Illustration Friday: Wings

This is a nephilim I made a few years back and I thought he fit the latest Illustration Friday: Wings. This was painted in Photoshop. I never did get around to finishing him as I was a bit put off by his static pose.

Illustration Friday: Myth

Here's my submission for IF: Myth. This is Yuki-Onna, a spirit from Japanese legend. I'm not sure she's very nice since she freezes people but she does love the snow and winter. This was painted in Photoshop.

Frida ATCs

A set of Fridas for an ATC  swap on IllustratedATCs.com. These Fridas were done in watercolor with gel pens and ink. Always fun to draw Frida!

Illustration Friday: Ocean

The things in the ocean are more interesting than the ocean itself so I went with things underneath. This is actually an older painting that I've just updated a bit for Illustration Friday. This is Photoshop. I don't think that diver is going to survive.

Snowmen!

Here some snowmen for a snowmen swap on IllustratedATCs.com. I figured that snowmen didn't have to stand still so these are snowy men of action and love! Skiing, dancing, snowboarding and hugging... they can do it all. Of course, we don't have any snow right now. One can hope.

These were done in watercolor, gel pens and markers. A bit of mix.

Bubblegum Monster Chews People

I think I made this bubblegum monster a few years ago but it's always been favorite sketch of mine. Not for the art but because the image is so ridiculous. I really like it. I decided it would look good on a card to send to someone and then I made it into a t-shirt too, because you can when you sell Zazzle stuff. :)

On a side note, I played a super fun little game tonight called Cthulhu Gloom. It makes me want to draw HP Lovecraft characters and watch The Dunwich Horror again (and not fall asleep at the end this time). So cheesy.

Big Toothed Bubbaloo

Here's a ridiculous little creature named the Big Toothed Bubbaloo. He was created for a drawing challenge on one of the art sites I trade at. He's sort of cute but naughty and will bite.

This one is a quickie sketch in Photoshop.

Ha! I just realized I forgot to add his furry mane on the left side of his head. Ah well. He's half furry.

Love Monsters

Here's a new t-shirt design I made today.  I love making cute little monsters so this one wasn't a chore at all. Check it out on a pink t-shirt. I also made other similar designs for greeting cards since Valentine's Day is coming up soon.

I'll be out of commission for most of the weekend since iATCs is having a trading art-a-thon. If you're a member and want to trade, send me a PM!

Illustration Friday: Edge

Here is my Illustration Friday with "edge" as the theme. I went with a dwarven axe. It has a pretty biog edge to it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to finish him today but the sketch will work for now.

Digital drawing in Photoshop. I'll come back to him and clean him up for a proper graphic sometime in the future... and fix his hands :)

I like dwarves.

I won a feature award at Zazzle!

Yay! I've been designing T-shirts and other items like a mad person for the past few days and this morning, Zazzle made one of my designs "Today's Best" for January 9th. Of course, there were tons more awesome designs featured (not just mine) but it sure was a cool email to receive.

Here's the design. It's from a sketch I did last year but I always liked it because it was so silly and weird. His Happy Place (he found a snow globe and it was very exciting). Check out my design at Zazzle on a T-shirt!

New Designs for my Zazzle Store

I had a bunch of quickie sketches that I turned into designs for my Zazzle store. These are all available on T-shirts, cups, mouse pads and all sorts of other items. They have tons at Zazzle. I'll likely get a Cafe Press store function too, soonish.

Life Drawing Session

From today's life drawing session, this one is colored pencil on Kraft paper.

There's a long pose session coming up soon and I plan on attempting to paint. I usually fall back on markers and pencils but this time I'll give it a whirl and go with acrylics.... Or maybe watercolors since they're a bit easier to lug around.

Hot Mama!

Hot Mama! Here's one from last month. You can tell it was a busy month since I'm uploading a bunch of December made art in January, lol. I didn't get around to posting a lot.

I plan on making a whole bunch of hot mama illustrations in 2013. We come in all sorts of packages so let's show it off.

Digital sketch in Photoshop.

Calavera Girl

An ATC made for an art friend in a Secret Santa swap. This one gives my daughter the creeps. Her stare is kinda scary. Watercolor and gel pens.

I love to create Day of the Dead style art and hope to upload more here and to my Fine Art America account this year. I collect DOTD art so if you ever want to trade, find me on AFA, iATCs or send me a note via my website.

Figure Painting Challenge

My acrylic painting (on illustration board) for a figure painting challenge on one the art websites I visit.

The original photo came from The Drawing Script website. The model has lovely blonde hair but I changed for this one. She's my fave model in the photos there. Great smiles all the time.

Big Red with Flowers

Here's another acrylic painting on canvas made as a Christmas present for another art friend. I like the rougher painting style and hope to make more like this in the coming year.

Prints of this one are available at my Fine Art America  website.

Help! I am stuck here....

I made an angry stuck mime for my friend, Sarah who collects mimes. This is acrylic on canvas. The original was 5 x 7, a small one!

I'd like to do a few big versions of mimes but as mixed media pieces. Another thing to add to the list.
